When it comes to negative SEO, i can’t remember a single time Google publicly admits, yes, this tactic works and hurts websites. They don’t do it. Makes them look bad. So when Google’s spokesman says the canonical negative SEO trick doesn’t work, I’m not surprised. It’s one of those things they will work on and figure out internally, but they can’t admit negative SEO is possible or effective.
