I’ve been saying this for years now, but finally read an article of someone else catching on that Yelp’s ads don’t produce the same calls that their free listings do. And it’s funny how Yelp makes it really hard to track the results of the ads. Once more business owners become aware of this, their sales will drop dramatically and as a business, they could be in trouble. Their ads don’t work. And the only reason their free listings get calls is because they sometimes pop up on Google because Google would rather have a review website like Yelp popping up than a business because Google wants businesses to have to pay for advertising to be on Google.

Podcasts = The New Radio. In 3, 5, 10 years from now, I predict AM/FM radio will struggle to stay in business. I predict instead of radio, or Sirius satellite radio, people will instead listen to podcasts. In the car through their phone and bluetooth. I predict Google is going to either create or buy a network similar to YouTube for podcasts (as opposed to iTunes and Google Play). When most people listen to podcasts, their attention is on the podcast. And a 15 second commercial of a single advertisement will have a ton of value. This is going to become a really big deal because I predict advertisers will be able to make more money off podcast ads then YouTube ads. Youtube ads can be easily skipped. Podcast ads, not so much.

People that do YouTube videos get paid. Now it’s the podcasts’ turn. And businesses would be smart to get on board advertising there. Especially in the first couple years when its DIRT cheap. In my latest video I go into detail on the next big form of internet marketing.
Read MoreMy prediction, people who make podcasts are going to start making money. How? Google’s going to create an audio ad network. Spotify is already creating their own platform, but we all know Google would be the best to do it. Similar to their banner ad network. Where you have a website and get it connected to adsense. And get paid off banner ads. And I actually think audio ads will be more effective than banner ads because there’s a bigger chance audio catches a person’s attention than a banner ad. So if you make podcasts, Google’s going to help you get paid. Coming soon. Watch
Read MoreAbout 95% of the internet marketing headlines and articles that I read either promote junk, stuff that’s obsolete, stuff that doesn’t work, or stuff that does work and there’s 100s of articles on that topic already. Very rarely do I come across something that could be a game changer in the industry. But today I’ve read that, finally, a call tracking vendor has figured out how to take an audio file and translate it to text. So when a client gets a phone call from advertising, they can figure out what the call was about without taking the time to listen to it. Huge!

Having kids myself, i agree with this. No reason for elementary school kids to be on social media. I think there’s more bad than good.

Most people know about the problems with fake news and click bait. But it’s 2018 and we have new issues. Such as fake websites with bots with the sole purpose of draining the banner ad budgets of businesses. And there’s tons of fake websites. Guru Larry Kim wrote a good article and how to combat it. That because there’s so many fake sites with new ones popping up everyday, the best thing to do is cherry pick a custom placement list with legit websites. Takes more work. But otherwise, you risk paying money for robots looking and clicking on your banner ads.
